Your research,
in eight more languages.

Chinese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian, through the same four-step process: translate, review, edit, final check. Read the note below before you order — these languages are handled differently from Japanese and English.

a different bench.

Japanese and English are handled by translators with a degree in your subject. The other eight languages are handled by our general professional translators — accurate and natural, but not specialists in your field.

What is different about these eight languages

Translations into Chinese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian are handled by our general professional translators. They are accurate and read naturally — but they are not the subject-matter specialists who work on Japanese and English, and they may not carry deep expertise in highly technical or industry-specific content.

If your document is a specialist paper for publication, the Japanese–English service is the one with the field expertise. For business documents, presentations, correspondence and creative content in the eight languages, this service is exactly right.

Scope

What the service covers, and what it does not

Eight languages, four passes on every document. The line worth reading twice is the one about who does the work: a professional translator, not a subject-matter specialist.

The service covers

  • Translation into any of the eight languages, by a professional translator
  • Review by a native expert in the target language
  • Editing so the document reads naturally, not merely correctly
  • A final proofreading pass before delivery
  • Business documents, presentations, correspondence, creative content

The service does not

  • Provide subject-matter specialists in these eight languages
  • Guarantee deep expertise in highly technical or industry-specific content
  • Verify your data, statistics or citations
  • Replace the Japanese–English service for a specialist paper
  • Certify the translation for legal or immigration purposes

Recommended for

Business documents, reports and correspondence
Presentations and materials for international audiences
Creative and marketing content in the eight languages
Anything that must read naturally rather than merely correctly

The four-step process

Translation is step one of four

The same sequence runs on every language pair. It is what separates a translation from a document somebody can publish.

1

Translation

A translator reads for intention, not only for words, and renders the research content clearly in the target language.

2

Review

A native expert in the target language verifies the translation for accuracy, consistency and completeness.

3

Editing

A specialist editor works on how it reads, so the document communicates rather than merely corresponds.

4

Final check

A native proofreader runs the last quality-control pass before the file goes back to you.

Frequently asked

Questions about multilingual translation

Chinese, Korean, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian, besides Japanese and English. If you need another language, ask — we will say plainly whether we can do it well or should decline.

Professional translators, native in the target language, working through the same four passes. They are not the subject-matter specialists who handle Japanese and English.

Tell us what the document is and we will answer honestly. For deeply technical or industry-specific material the honest answer is sometimes no — and it is cheaper for you to hear it before the order than after.

Ask with the pair and the document in front of you. Some pairs we handle directly; others we would route through English, and we will say so rather than doing it silently.

Yes. Your glossary is kept and reused, so the same terms come back the same way in every language and in every later job.

Every employee and every external partner signs a confidentiality agreement, access to a file is limited to the people assigned to it, and the assignment is logged. Forte holds the Privacy Mark and works under ISO 9001:2015.
