Three parts of the paper are optional
Most of a manuscript is prose, and prose is always edited. These three are priced separately, so you include what you want checked and leave out what you do not.
Figures
Captions, axis labels and the sentences in the body that point at them — checked for agreement with what the figure actually shows.
Tables
Headers, units and footnotes, and the consistency between the table and the text that describes it.
References
Spelling, spacing and formatting consistency, brought into line with the citation style of the journal you name.
What you choose is written into the quote before the work starts, so the scope is fixed on both sides.
